About Sonic Skin Dx
Complex diagnoses demand a holistic approach involving the collaboration of clinicians and the histopathologists, as well as specialist colleagues in disciplines such as genetics, microbiology, haematology, immunology and biochemistry. Sonic Skin Dx's team of pathologists includes nationally and internationally recognised experts who remain dedicated members of the local medical community. All dermatopathology is performed by local expert histopathologists, who regularly collaborate with national colleagues to maintain excellence in skin pathology reporting.
Skin pathology spans several disciplines within a pathology laboratory. Results provided through additional testing within genetic pathology, microbiology, immunoserology, biochemistry and haematology all regularly contribute to the histopathological diagnosis of skin disorders. As a comprehensive laboratory, Sonic Skin Dx provides you and your patients with seamless access to specialised pathology services. The onsite consultation and synergistic approach between reporting pathologists from different subspecialties helps to provide a cohesive report on a patient’s condition.

The range of material seen in our laboratories includes neoplastic and inflammatory disorders of the skin itself, as well as a large number of related gynaecological, male genital, dental and ocular conditions, and disorders of the hair and nails.
Some conditions occur only rarely, however, we offer highly specialised services in the more uncommon skin lesions due to the large number of specimens we receive from across all areas of Australia.
