Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology (DHM), in collaboration with onsite expert consultant cardiologists and cardiac technicians, is committed to the provision of comprehensive cardiac investigations and diagnostic services. Our cardiologists are available for discussion and advice regarding your patients’ reports, treatment options and medical management.


A Cardiologist is on call, 7 days a week, to 10 pm. A team of experienced cardiac technicians are available Monday–Saturday.

Electrocardiogram (ECG)

– All ECG tests are reviewed and interpreted by our team of specialised cardiologists.
– Urgent ECG results are available within 1–2 hours.
– Routine ECG results are available within 12–24 hours.
– Electronic delivery of enhanced pdf reports available to download to your PMS or view online via Sonic Dx.
– Available at any of our collection centres.
– Walk-in service available, no appointment required.
– Pensioners and Health Care Card holders are bulk-billed.
– Patients will receive an out-of-pocket account for this test and can claim a Medicare rebate.

24-hour Holter monitor

– All Holter monitor tests are reviewed and interpreted by our team of specialised cardiologists.
– Holter monitor results are available within 24–48 hours.

– Available at any of our collection centres.
– Appointments are required.
– Urgent Holter monitor service is available upon request.
– Pensioners and Health Care Card holders are bulk-billed.
– Patients will receive an out-of-pocket account for this test and can claim a Medicare rebate.

Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM)

– ABPM allows for statistically accurate evaluation of day/night phases and has been shown to provide a better prediction of clinical outcome than clinic-based or casual blood pressure readings.

– Electronic delivery of enhanced pdf reports available to download to your PMS or view online via Sonic Dx.
– Our lightweight device automatically records blood pressure and heart rate at regular intervals over a 24-hour period.
– Available at select collection centres.
– Appointments are required.
– Patients may be eligible for a rebate if Medicare criteria is met.

Please note:  Effective from 1 November 2021, Medicare has introduced a new item number for ABPM. Rebated testing is available to patients who meet eligibility criteria.

Our team of onsite consulting cardiologists report on all ECGs, Holter monitors and ABPMs and triage by clinical urgency. A cardiologist is on call 7 days a week.

Our trained pathology collection staff provide specialised, high-quality cardiac monitoring.

Results can be delivered electronically as a summary pdf report and accessed via a link, allowing for doctors to view and print the entire report, if required.
