Dr Ivan Burchett graduated from the University of Sydney. He trained as a general pathologist at Westmead Hospital and was subsequently Senior Registrar in Histopathology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Dr Burchett joined Hanly Moir Pathology in 1989. He has served as Director of the Pathology Departments of Manly and Mona Vale Hospitals and is currently Director of our laboratory at the Mater Hospital, North Sydney. While Dr Burchett's reporting role is predominantly in histopathology, he is also involved in the haematology department and reports on the flow cytometry of lymphoid tissue. Dr Burchett's main area of interest is haematopathology, particularly lymphoma diagnosis, but he also has an interest in uropathology. He is an Adjunct Senior Clinical Lecturer in Pathology at the School of Medicine, University of Notre Dame.
