Biography

Dr Samantha Day graduated from the University of Sydney in 1993. She completed her training in clinical and laboratory haematology in 2009, primarily based at Westmead Hospital, and spent 18 months in paediatric haematology and oncology at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead. Dr Day is interested in all areas of haematology, however, most of her clinical work involved the management of lymphomas and myeloma while working at Liverpool and Campbelltown Hospitals in 2011–2023. She has an interest in medical education and was the Clinical Superintendent in Medicine at Westmead and Blacktown Hospitals in 2010–2011. This role primarily focused on training the network of Basic Physician Trainees. Dr Day has lectured Western Sydney University medical students for the haematology components of their course. She also holds a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Sydney.
