Dr Nazmoon Laila graduated from the University of Dhaka in 2003. Following the completion of her internship and residency years at The Canberra Hospital, she undertook her pathology training at The Royal Women’s Hospital and The Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne. During her training, she also spent time at Monash Medical Centre and The Northern Hospital.

Dr Laila received her Fellowship from the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in 2014 and, following completion of her pathologist training, worked as a senior lecturer at Melbourne Medical School (University of Melbourne). She joined a large private pathology practice in 2015 and was actively involved in registrar training and supervision among many other responsibilities. Dr Laila joined Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology in November 2022. Her areas of special interest include gastrointestinal, hepatic, pancreato-biliary, perinatal and gynaecological pathology.
