Dr Michelle Galido-Mabagos graduated from the De La Salle University College of Medicine, Philippines in 2001. She completed her residency training in anatomic and clinical pathology at Makati Medical Centre in 2008 and was certified as an Anatomic and Clinical Pathologist by the Board of Pathology, Philippine Society of Pathologists. This was followed by a year of fellowship training in haematopathology and involvement in the academe where she was appointed as an Assistant Professor in Pathology.

After moving to Australia, Dr Galido-Mabagos trained as a general pathologist at John Hunter Hospital, with rotations at Calvary Mater Newcastle and Tamworth Base Hospital. She gained experience in various areas of pathology, including anatomical pathology, haematology, microbiology and clinical chemistry. She obtained her RCPA Fellowship in 2022 and joined Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology shortly thereafter.
