Dr Lyndal Edwards graduated from the University of Sydney and trained in anatomical pathology at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney. During this time, she also trained at the Royal Hospital for Women, Randwick, where she first developed her interest in gynaecological pathology.

Following completion of training, Dr Edwards worked as a Senior Registrar at Waikato Hospital, a large tertiary referral hospital in New Zealand. On her return to Sydney, she joined the Pathology Department at the Royal Hospital for Women and then Prince of Wales Hospital, Randwick, where she specialised in gynaecological pathology and cytology. As the Royal Hospital for Women was a tertiary referral centre for cancer patients, Dr Edwards gained extensive experience in the pathology of gynaecological malignancies, as well as participating in research papers. In 2010, she joined a private pathology practice as one of their gynaecological pathologists and was delighted to join the dedicated gynaecological pathologist team, GynaePath, at Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology in June 2023.
