Description

Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology is a medical testing laboratory based in Macquarie Park, Sydney, New South Wales, employing more than 2,500 staff.

We are committed to providing quality pathology services to general practitioners, medical specialists, nursing homes and private hospitals in metropolitan and regional areas of New South Wales.

Two full time positions – a day and an afternoon/evening shift - are available in our Immunoserology Department (Macquarie Park) for scientists with laboratory experience. Participation in a rotational roster (from day to afternoon/evening shifts) and weekend/public holiday roster is expected when required.

Essential criteria for this position are:

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent)
  • Work experience in a pathology laboratory
  • Understanding of good laboratory practice techniques
  • Understanding of quality control and assurance procedures 
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven attention to detail

Desirable criteria include:

  • Experience in autoimmune IFA
  • Experience in fluorescence microscopy
  • Experience in Infectious Disease Serology, Immunology, and/or allergy testing would be a distinct advantage
  • Experience in an automated laboratory environment 
  • A demonstrated strong customer focus
