Dr William Felbel is a graduate of the University of Sydney. He spent two years in general practice in Sydney’s eastern suburbs before completing his pathology training in anatomical pathology at St Vincent’s Hospital; where he later held the position of Staff Specialist Histopathologist. Dr Felbel has worked in private pathology practice since 1986, joining the Douglass practice in 1988. Dr Felbel has special interests in the areas of dermatopathology and gastrointestinal pathology. In 1989, to further his diagnostic expertise in skin disorders, he undertook a Fellowship in Dermatopathology in the USA at the University of Colorado Health Science Centre, Denver. In 1997, Dr Felbel transferred temporarily to Capital Pathology in Canberra, where he spent a year as Acting Director of Histopathology before returning to Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology in 1998. He is currently Adjunct Senior Lecturer in Pathology at the School of Medicine, University of Notre Dame.
