Dr Vera Stoermer graduated from the University of Sydney. She trained in haematology at Sydney Hospital and Prince Henry Hospital, Little Bay, before joining the Douglass practice in 1985. Dr Stoermer is a specialist laboratory haematologist with particular interests in haemostasis and coagulation. In addition to her laboratory roles, Dr Stoermer has been active in other capacities. She served as the Publications Officer for the Board of Education of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia from 1991 to 1997 and was an Associate Editor for the College’s “Manual of the Use and Interpretation of Pathology Tests”. Dr Stoermer is also a Medical Assessor for the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) and has an appointment as Adjunct Senior Lecturer in Pathology, at the School of Medicine, University of Notre Dame.
