Special interests: Gynaecological pathology, soft tissue tumours, cytopathology and surgical pathology
A/Professor Richard Jaworski is a graduate of the University of Sydney. He performed his pathology training at Concord Repatriation General Hospital, The Royal Hospital for Women, Paddington, and ICPMR, Westmead Hospital. In 1985, he was appointed as a Staff Specialist Pathologist at ICPMR, becoming a Senior Staff Specialist in 1989, a position he held until January 2007. In 1996, he was appointed as a Senior Clinical Lecturer in Pathology at the University of Sydney. A/Professor Jaworski has worked for Laverty Pathology and was Head of Anatomical Pathology from July 2006 to June 2007. He joined Douglass Hanly Moir in July 2007. A/Professor Jaworski’s main areas of interest are gynaecological pathology, soft tissue tumours and cytopathology, however, he enjoys all aspects of surgical pathology. He has published many articles on gynaecological pathology, general surgical pathology and has co-authored a textbook chapter on glandular neoplasia of the uterine cervix. He is currently on the editorial board of Pathology. A/Professor Jaworski has served as Secretary of the Board of Education of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia and has been an examiner in Anatomical Pathology. He is currently President of the Australasian Division of the International Academy of Pathology and is Adjunct Professor of Pathology at the School of Medicine, University of Notre Dame.
