Special interests: Infectious disease and diagnostic microbiology
Dr Raed Simhairi graduated from the University of Al-Mustansiriyah, Baghdad, Iraq, in 1984. His postgraduate training in pathology also began in Baghdad where, after completing a Masters degree in Medical Microbiology, he combined a University teaching role with a career in private pathology. Following hospital appointments in Brisbane and Sydney and the completion of his FRCPA, Dr Simhairi joined Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology in January 2009. His long experience and broad knowledge extend the consultative service we are able to offer in the fields of infectious disease and diagnostic microbiology. Dr. Simhairi also has an appointment as Adjunct Lecturer in Pathology at the School of Medicine, University of Notre Dame.
