Dr Jennifer Roberts is a graduate of the University of Queensland and undertook her specialty training at the Royal Brisbane and the Royal Women’s Hospitals, obtaining her Fellowship of the Royal College in 1993. Since that time, she has worked in both hospital and private practice and, for the last 15 years, has specialised in gynaecological histopathology and cytopathology.  Her long-term interests are glandular neoplasia of the cervix and the role of new technologies in cervical screening and she has published extensively in both areas. Most recently, she has co-authored two chapters of a major textbook Pathology of the Female Reproductive Tract. Dr Roberts also has a strong interest in pathology of the vulva and is keen to promote clinico-pathological dialogue to enhance appropriate use of laboratory testing in the management of vulval disease. She is a member of the executive committee of the Australia and New Zealand Vulvovaginal Society and a founding member of the Sonic Vulva Group. Dr Roberts is a co-investigator in the NHMRC trial 'Study for the Prevention of Anal Neoplasia' and is developing appropriate pathology training resources for the emerging field of anal cytology. She is a frequent speaker at local and national meetings and, with a strong commitment to teaching, has been involved in many workshops and tutorials, both within Australia and internationally.
