Dr Helen Ogle graduated from the University of Sydney and trained in histopathology and cytopathology at both Westmead and Royal North Shore hospitals. She then spent several years in Papua New Guinea, where she held the appointment of Head of the Department of Histopathology at Port Moresby General Hospital and Lecturer in Pathology at UPNG Medical School. Dr Ogle also travelled to Cambodia to establish a western-style hospital in Phnom Penh and was the Director of Laboratory Services there; developing pathology services and training medical and laboratory staff. In 2000, she returned to Australia and joined Barratt & Smith Pathology as a histopathologist and cytopathologist. Dr Ogle now works at Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology and has special interests in the areas of dermatopathology, gynaecological pathology and cytopathology. Since April 2007, Dr Ogle has been Adjunct Senior Lecturer in Pathology at the School of Medicine, University of Notre Dame.
